OMAHA, Nebraska - April 13, 2012 — At the Omaha Press Club Annual Awards Ceremony, Jim Burnett, long-time World-Herald photographer and one of Doll's first photography students at Creighton University, presented Fr. Don Doll, S.J., the Journalism Educator Award. Of course, Jim quipped it's 'grip and grin' which broke me into my widest grin. The Omaha Press Club's annual awards ceremony traditionally awards scholarships to Journalism students from Creighton University, University of Nebraska/Lincoln and the University of Nebraska/Omaha.

The 2012 St.Augustine Indian School Calendar designed by Pat Osborne of Mutual of Omaha, again, for the second year in a row, won the Gold Award for a non-profit calendar in the National Calendar Awards sponsored by the Calendar Marketing Association. It also won in 2009. The 2012 calendar represents the 11th calendar for which I've photographed the children in their Native American regalia. The calendar can be purchased on the St. Augustine website.
